Is it about that great news? I hate my laptop. It has this irritating noise which led me to no options but to turn on to my itunes whenever i switch it on. Argh. I was doing my research for my assignment when i came across a website from the expats in Singapore. I was agreeing with what they said throughout, in the forum. You know about the Singlish and the education system here as compare to other countries especially the western countries? It gives me the idea on how i should go on for my research paper. I remember when one of them said something like, "After a couple of years in a local school, my kids had the worst Singlish accents. It was really awful. There was no creativity in the teaching either" Another one of them even said, "The strange, too-perfect Singaporean style of English irks me as well." What they said, Is it all true? Well i'm not supporting these expats on the negative thoughts about Singapore education system. However to be honest, what they said about the pressure from Singapore local schools and the singlish are the truth that we can't deny. I bet when we were talking in Singlish, the westerns must be laughing their head off. A very close examples are my lecturers from OCU. It must be a 'hot topic' to bring back to OCU. With the 'lah', 'lor' and all. Ok now, i'm so ashamed of myself. Thank god i'm in MC. We often get on with the proper English although we speak Singlish back and forth in our conversation since we have international students in our class who might not understand what we're talking about. Anyway,it's 2.23 am now and i'm seating infront my lappy, spending half of the time staring at it. It's already August and thinking of the days ahead makes me aghast to wake up in morning. The challenges, expectations, worries and too many to mention. "O Allah, give me strength" ![]() |
